SECTION TWO - BASIC
DRIVE COMPONENTS
A. FLUID COUPLING
1. The fluid coupling eliminates
the need for a driver-operated clutch pedal, and consists of a drive torus
and
a driven torus. The torus members are located about 1/4-inch apart. Each
torus is splined to an independent
shaft, and both operate in an oil-filled housing consisting of the torus
cover and the engine flywheel.
