a rear metal clad seal since it has an open driveline).
**The 1955 uses the early internal 8 lug style friction plates,
1956 and up uses the internal spline style friction plates.
*The 1957 is the only C. I. Powerglide transmission that has three (3) .090" and
two (2) .070" steel clutch plates, all of the others have five (5) .070" steel plates.
**Some 1961's and most, if not all, 1962's use the 12 tang steel clutch plates.
**You should determine if your 1961 have 6 or 12 tang plates before ordering

For 1950-62 Cast Iron Powerglide Only

This kit consists of just the outside gaskets and seals that are accessible from the outside of the transmission
that has not been removed from the car. It consists of five or six gaskets and four to seven seals and o'rings.
The 1955-1962 kit will include a
orange silicon o'ring to seal the speedometer gear shaft to the housing (bullet).
It does not include the torque converter o'ring,  front seal and any rear seal area gaskets and seals.

**Band is cast iron in 1950-52  with a spring separating it and it is
steel in 1953-54 with a pin* passing thru it where it comes together.
*The 1953-54 front and rear bands are identical
(*The pin is sometimes removed from the 1950-62 rear steel band and not replaced
when the band is being relined. This is normal as the pin is not required for the correct
operation of the band. The pin was only required on the GM Powerglide assembly line)
